Build a Secure Cyberspace 2016 – “Protecting Data from Ransomware Attacks” Seminar
Ransomware has recently spread across the globe. Media in Hong Kong also reported cases of ransomware attacks. Ransomware is one kind of malware and it is also one means of cyber attacks. Cyber attacks are ever evolving and getting more sophisticated. Protection from cyber attacks cannot solely rely on a single defensive product. If you want to better protect yourself from cyber attacks of these kinds, you should understand more about cause and impact of these attacks and the associated preventive measures. Hereby, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) jointly organise the “Protecting Data from Ransomware Attacks” public seminar. In this seminar, information security experts will discuss the ransomware attacks and other recent cyber attacks. It will also explores ways to prevent and mitigate the risks.
