“Fact Check After Receiving, Think Twice Before Sharing” Folder Design Contest

Thank you for your participation and support. The Award Ceremony was held on 23 September 2022.



The Contest aims to arouse cyber security awareness of the general public to observe digital etiquette and laws, and be sceptical when sending and receiving messages. The general public should also protect their personal information from abuses by the adversaries.

Participants could design a creative A4 folder to convey the message in this contest.

Objective

Poster of “Fact Check After Receiving, Think Twice Before Sharing” Folder Design Contest

The Contest aims to arouse cyber security awareness of the general public to observe digital etiquette and laws, and be sceptical when sending and receiving messages. The general public should also protect their personal information from abuses by the adversaries.
Participants could design a creative A4 folder to convey the message in this contest.

Eligibility

The Contest is divided into Open, Secondary School and Primary School categories. Each participant can enrol to only one of the categories and should submit only one entry. Participants shall agree and abide by all the rules and regulations of the Contest.

Category

  • Open Category - Hong Kong residents
  • Secondary School Category - Secondary school students in Hong Kong
  • Primary School Category - Primary school students in Hong Kong

Most Supportive School Awards - To promote the awareness of information security among schools, teachers and students, “Most Supportive School Awards” are set for Secondary School and Primary School categories. There will be one Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up respectively for each category to commend the active participation of schools. The top three schools with the highest student participation will receive a trophy.

Most Favourite Online Awards - All winning works had be uploaded to the “共建安全網絡” Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/buildsecurecyberspace) for online voting in late August 2022. The top three entries with most “likes” will win the “Most Favourite Online Awards”.

Judging Criteria

  • 50% Content and Rendition - Serving to promote public awareness of cyber security to observe digital etiquette and laws
  • 25% Design and Creativity - Creative concept and originality
  • 25% Artistic Presentation - Aesthetic appeal, drawing techniques and visual effects


Panel of Judges

The Panel of Judges is comprised of representatives of Organisers, Co-organiser and Supporting Organisations. They will select the winning works and give ratings according to the above judging criteria.


Announcement of Results

The results decided by the Panel of Judges will be announced on this website. Winners will be notified individually to receive their awards.


Public Voting for the “Most Favourite Online Awards”

All winning works had be uploaded to the “共建安全網絡” Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/buildsecurecyberspace) for online voting in late August 2022. The top three entries with most “likes” will win the “Most Favourite Online Awards”.


Award Presentation Ceremony

An award presentation ceremony will be held at the public seminar of “Build a Secure Cyberspace” campaign at the HKPC Building in 23 September 2022.

All entries must meet the following requirements:

  1. The folder design must meet the theme “Fact Check After Receiving, Think Twice Before Sharing” to promote cyber security awareness and observe digital etiquette and laws.
  2. The folder includes both front and back sides, with each side of A4 International paper size (210 mm x 297 mm). Participants must submit both sides of the design.
  3. The entry must be in colour. If the folder design includes any text content, such content should be in Chinese or English language.
  4. Entries can be presented with various kinds of drawing tools, such as crayons, watercolour, coloured pencils, computer software, etc.
  5. If the entry is hand-drawn, the entry must be designed within the folder frame in application form.
    • Hand-drawn entry should not be folded when submitted. It may be scanned into an electronic image file (with at least 300 dpi and in PNG, JPG, TIFF or BMP format) for online or email submission.
  6. If the entry is produced using computer software, participants must download the folder frame file (https://www.cybersecurity.hk/folder_frame_eng.ai) for design.
    • Participants are required to submit the computer software produced entry raw file and an image file with at least 300 dpi and in PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP, AI or PSD format. The resolution of the raw file must be at least 300 dpi with CMYK four-colour process printing. The use of clip art defaulted by computer software is not allowed.
  7. A title and a brief description (not more than 200 words) of the entry must be included in the application form.

Method 1: Online Submission

Participants are required to submit the online application form together with the entry files via the following website:

Please compress the folder's front and back design graphics into one ZIP file for submission. The file size must be less than or equal to 10MB. If anything is missing in the submission, the participants will be disqualified. Late submissions will not be accepted (the online submission date shall be based on the recipient server’s timestamp).

Method 2: Email Submission

Participants are required to send (i) the entry file, and (ii) a completed and signed application form via email to “event@hkcert.org”. Please mark “Fact Check After Receiving, Think Twice Before Sharing” Folder Design Contest and the participating category in the subject field of the email.

The size of files submitted must be less than or equal to 10MB. If the size of the files is greater than 10MB, please use compression utility to compress it as ZIP format. If anything is missing in the submission, the participants will be disqualified. Late submissions will not be accepted (the email submission date shall be based on the recipient mail server’s timestamp).

Note:

  1. In view of the pandemic situation, to safeguard public health and support the HKSAR Government's efforts in combatting against COVID-19. The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) announced that, starting from 31 May 2022, all visitors of HKPC Building (including employees, contractors, visitors and members of the public) must show their Vaccine Pass with at least three doses of COVID-19 vaccine or at least two doses of COVID-19 vaccine with the second dose received within six months for entering the HKPC Building. Persons who are ineligible for vaccination due to age will be exempted. Those who are unfit for vaccination due to health reasons must show Medical Exemption Certificates issued electronically by doctors via the Government's eHealth System or the Hospital Authority's computer system for entry. Certificates without an encrypted QR code will not be accepted. For persons recovered from COVID-19, the “recovery record QR code” can be used for Vaccine Pass purposes.
  2. HKPC will regularly review the above tightening measures in details to determine the follow-up arrangements. Please visit the website www.hkpc.org for the latest update.

  1. Each participant can enrol to only one of the categories and should submit only one entry. Multiple submission will result in disqualification. All related entries will be rendered void.
  2. All entries must meet the Basic Specifications of Entries specified above.
  3. Once the entries are submitted, they cannot be modified or replaced and will not be returned to the participants.
  4. All entries must not contain violent, obscene or indecent content.
  5. All entries must be original and must not be copied from or drawn by others.
  6. Names, products or services of any companies or entities or any third-party trademarks, logos shall not be contained or referred to in all entries. No entries shall be used for the promotion of any brands, products or services.
  7. Participants must guarantee that their entries have never been openly shown in any form, and shall not infringe any copyrights and intellectual property rights. If the entries had entered other competitions, the participants shall ensure that the copyrights of the entries do not belong to any individuals/parties/organisations. The participants shall assume legal liability for any disputes over the copyrights of the entries. The Organisers and Co-organisers accept no responsibility for such disputes.
  8. The Organisers have the right not to accept any improper entries or entries not aligning with the theme and specifications of the Contest. If there are doubts that the entries have infringed the intellectual property rights of others or the entries were drawn by others, the Organisers have the right to disqualify them from entering or winning the Contest.
  9. The copyrights of all entries, once submitted, are vested solely in the Organisers. Participants shall agree that the Organisers and Co-organisers can at any time display, reprint, reproduce, use or modify their entries for any purposes. The Organisers and Co-organisers are not required to notify the participants or pay them any fees.
  10. Participants shall agree and accept the publishing of their entries in any forms and the public display of their entries, and the production of these entries into any items by the Organisers and Co-organisers, e.g. the public display or publishing of the entries in public exhibitions, the websites, social networking sites, mobile applications and publications of the Organisers and Co-organisers; the production of these entries into any items, such as souvenirs, calendars or promotional materials, etc.
  11. The Organisers reserve the right to use in whole or in part the design of the entries. The participants shall not raise objection.
  12. The Organisers reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize at any time without prior notice.
  13. Participants should participate in publicity events related to the Contest upon invitation of the Organisers.
  14. The results decided by the Panel of Judges shall be final. Participants shall abide by the decisions of the Panel of Judges and shall not raise objection to the results.
  15. Participants shall agree and abide by the Terms and Conditions of the Contest including those specified on the application forms and in this website for the Contest.
  16. All persons involved in the organisation and implementation of the Contest are not eligible for joining the Contest. They include but not limited to members of the organising committee, Panel of Judges and their immediate family members.
  17. The Organisers reserve the right to interpret and revise the Terms and Conditions of the Contest and all other Terms and Conditions set out in the application forms. Participants shall not raise objection.
  18. Participants have the right of access and correction with respect to their personal data as stipulated in Sections 18 and 22 and Principle 6 of Schedule 1 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, and have the right to obtain a copy of their personal data provided in the application forms.
  19. Participants who wish to access or correct personal data specified in the application forms, or get information of the related policies, practices and the kinds of data held can send their written requests to the following address:

  20. Personal data provided by the participants will be destroyed within 12 months after the contest except the names and school names which will be published according to the Terms and Conditions of the Contest.
  21. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version of the Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
